Design and Management of Market Research
TEAM's experience in this area is extensive. We have undertaken research planning projects and integrated programmes of research for a wide variety of clients and we specialise in helping DMOs fulfill their often complex and diverse requirements.
Our knowledge and understanding of both research techniques and the policy issues in question enables us to offer a number of different services in the delivery of research and intelligence projects. These include:
- A range of different data collection techniques including web, telephone, post, fax, e-mail and face to face
- Specialist research for both consumer and business to business markets, as well as visitor surveys
- Quantitative and qualitative research
- Questionnaire and sample design
- Strategic analysis and application recommendations.
The key difference between TEAM and other research providers is the wider tourism expertise that we bring to any research project. This is an asset throughout the whole process - from the initial stages of the project (methodology design, sampling and questionnaire creation) through to the final analysis, interpretation and application of findings. Frequently our research is undertaken as part of a wider study and used to inform future strategies and developments.
Recent research projects include:
- DACOM Evaluation
A three year project evaluating the impact of the Devon and Cornwall Overseas Marketing campaign. The evaluation involves a number of discrete elements including analysis of International Passenger Survey data, a web and brochure survey of consumers and a survey of participating businesses.
- Shropshire Markets
A three phase research project looking at the motivations of day visitors and short break takers in Shropshire, involving focus groups, an analysis of consumers' perceptions and quantitative research. The findings of the research were then used to help refine target audiences and promotional approaches.
- British Conference Venue Survey (BCVS)
BCVS is a national survey evaluating the performance of conference venues and the overall impact of conference tourism in the UK. TEAM has undertaken the survey for the last two years, a project that has involved a range of data collection methods including web, e-mail and postal surveys.
- An Assessment of the Economic Impact of Business Tourism in Shropshire
A project designed to assess the overall impact of discretionary business tourism, involving a survey of venues and conference delegates in the area and the modelling of resulting data to provide an overall assessment of economic impact.
